"Ourselves, Sara Danius" is the name of Ylva Snöfrid's portrait of Sara Danius, which is now ready to be presented to the client, the Swedish Academy.

Sara Danius herself never had time to be a model and in a press release Ylva Snöfrid explains that she therefore tried to find Danius' "original image".

"I have thought that she radiates in a surreal way, that realism lies in the surface and cracks of the mirror shard, and that her body as a little younger is strong and flexible, but still fragmented by the light she radiates from her future," says Ylva Snöfrid .

Placed in Börshuset

The Swedish Academy's permanent secretary traditionally has his portraits painted by an artist.

For Sara Danius, it never became a reality before she hastily left her assignment and later died.

The choice of artist was made by Danius' family and also received the Academy's consent.

From 30 September to 30 October, the portrait will be shown at the Cfhill gallery in Stockholm.

It will then be moved to Börshuset, where the current permanent secretary Mats Malm has chosen the painting of the Swedish Academy's only female permanent secretary as one of the portraits that will adorn his workroom.
