People from all walks of life, descendants of Confucius, researchers of Confucianism and traditional culture lovers gathered in front of the Dacheng Hall of the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology (Taiyuan Temple) to commemorate the 2571 anniversary of Confucius’s birth to express the memorial to the saint.

  At the ceremony, the guests on the scene worshipped the statue of Confucius, presented flower baskets, read the sacrificial texts, bowed and performed ancient rituals, and shared the memory of the ancestors and paid tribute to the saints.

  Since 2007, Taiyuan Temple has held Confucian worship activities for 14 consecutive years. Confucius is a great Chinese thinker, educator, and founder of Chinese Confucianism, and has had a profound impact on the history of the Chinese nation.
