A surfer loses his surfboard in America to find him in the Philippines!

A surfboard has traveled thousands of kilometers from the coast of Hawaii Island to the Philippines, after its owner was hit.

American surfer Doug Walter fell off a board while surfing in Waimy Bay on Howe Island.

More than two years after Walter lost his board, the athlete found his way through social media, as water threw the board to the Sarangani island in the southern Philippines, more than 8,000 kilometers from the Philippines.

He then bought the board another surfer from his neighbor who had stumbled upon it while on a cruise.

The owner of the new board is Giovanni Branzuela, a trained surfer who works as a teacher at a primary school in the Philippines.

The 35-year-old American surfer said in an interview with Agence France-Presse via the "Zoom" application: "When I saw the pictures, I could not believe my eyes. I thought it was a joke."
