American survey: The possibility of transmitting the Corona virus in restaurants is greater than in transportation

American researchers under the supervision of the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control have found that crowded restaurants with customers pose a greater risk of transmission of the new Corona virus, Covid19, compared to using public transportation, because people in the restaurant have to remove the face mask while eating food or drinking drinks while they keep it on their faces On buses, trains and metros.

The researchers in charge of the study distributed questionnaires to about 300 people who had previously visited eleven American hospitals for the purpose of conducting corona examinations last July, and the results of the tests half of them were positive (that is, they were infected with Corona virus), and among the questions asked in the questionnaire:

Did you go out for shopping during the 14 days before your symptoms appeared?

Did you use public transportation?

Did you go to a house, a gym, a restaurant, a club, or a work office in which there are more than ten people?

The researchers found that all of these people, whose test results were negative or positive, were wearing masks on their faces, taking the same preventive measures, but removing masks while they were in restaurants and clubs.

It has been noted that the number of those who went to restaurants and cafes who had positive results of their tests was twice the number of those who were satisfied with using public transportation.

This study, published by the US health authorities, stressed the potential role of restaurants and cafes in the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, while reducing the role of using public transportation or being in work offices.

It also stressed the need to wear a muzzle to avoid infection due to the dispersal of the spray, regardless of its quantity.

It is expected that this study will be strengthened with other research that takes into account the sitting of customers in indoor or outdoor spaces in restaurants and cafes and the role of this in increasing or reducing the incidence of infection with the Corona virus.
