The Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi revealed that the Al Dhafra Festival 2020 will be launched on November 5 in Zayed City in Al Dhafra Region, stressing that it will take all precautionary and preventive measures, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, to protect the health of participants and workers.

The festival, which is organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will run until January 29, 2021.

For his part, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Issa Saif Al Mazrouei, said that the activities of this exceptional session will be limited to the competition of camels for the local and Majahim categories, falcons, saluki and sheep of bliss, in addition to the purebred Arabian horse race, the falconry competition, and the heritage Arab Greyhound race championship 2500 meters. And the archery competition, within the schedule and dates of each category, by two days at the end of each week, and for about 13 weeks.

He explained that the 14th session will not include the popular market and its activities, in the interest of public safety and the safety of participants and workers, in light of the exceptional circumstances to confront the "Covid-19" challenge.

Issa Saif Al Mazrouei added that the festival management, in coordination with the various concerned authorities in the Al Dhafra region, will announce the details of the heritage auctions and competitions during the coming period, according to a joint plan that includes temperature measurements, and the daily sterilization of all the sites for auctions and competitions in the festival, and obligating all workers and participants to need Show the results of the Corona virus test, provided that it is negative, while wearing face masks and gloves, according to the instructions of the competent authorities, and adhering to the spacing between people and different committees, while providing health materials and various sterilization materials.
