The British royal family is waiting for a new grandson

Britain's Buckingham Palace announced on Friday that Princess Eugenie, Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter, is expecting a baby early next year.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021," the palace said in a statement.

"The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr. and Mrs. George Brooksbank, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are delighted to hear this news," the statement added.

Eugenie is tenth in line to the throne and is the youngest daughter of Queen Prince Andrew's third child and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.

Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank in Windsor Castle in 2018.

The queen will be the ninth in a generation of great-grandchildren for the 94-year-old queen.
