Things are blowing hard this Friday in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Météo-France has placed the department on yellow vigilance "violent wind" until Saturday 6 am and a strong swell is announced with a storm warning, locally, at sea.

The maritime prefecture of the Mediterranean is forecasting gusts of up to 65 knots (120 km / h), the wind being able to blow in particular very strongly east of Antibes.

The authorities recommend to "postpone the trips to sea" and to check the boats at anchor.

Parks and gardens closed in Cannes

Around 10:30 am, the city of Cannes announced at

the closure of its parks and gardens as a precaution.

"The beach attendants have been warned but, at this time, there is no submersion alert linked to the swell", it was specified on the side of the town hall.
