Several of the players have previously criticized Apple for the disproportionate power they have over the market, in that they both develop apps and control the App store.

Now Apple's critics have joined forces under the name Coalition for app fairness.

In addition to Spotify, the game developer Epic games, which is behind the success of Fortnite, has become involved.

Monopoly on the market

The group believes that Apple today has a monopoly on the market.

They want to see that developers have the conditions to make a wider impact, as well as give the consumer more freedom.

They also criticize the fact that Apple takes 30 percent of the revenue from what is sold through the App store and compares it with other transaction fees, which usually do not exceed five percent.

On their site, they also accuse Apple of stealing ideas from competitors.

Old conflict

As recently as last week, the music service Spotify criticized Apple for launching a new subscription service that they believe is "anti-competitive".

And last year, Spotify reported Apple to the EU competition authority to take advantage of its market position.
