The stormy weather this Thursday on the Côte d'Azur gave rise to an impressive phenomenon: the formation of three waterspouts in the bay of Cannes.
They were notably immortalized by Cyril Charpin.

Another waterspout was also observed in the early afternoon on the coast of Antibes.
“At the end of the storm which hit Juan Les Pins, we saw a tube forming above the sea” testifies Guillaume Rugolo, who photographed the phenomenon.

These waterspouts are formed when a significant difference in temperature appears between air and water, as is the case this Thursday with a drop in air temperature.
They often occur in the fall or spring.
