According to Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., at around 1:40 pm on the 24th, a fire broke out from the cable of the temporary power panel that was placed near Unit 3 under regular inspection at the Genkai Nuclear Power Station, but the work was nearby. The staff immediately put it out with a fire extinguisher.
After that, the fire department that received the report confirmed the fire extinguishing at the site at 2:35 pm.
At the Genkai Nuclear Power Station, Unit 4 is in normal operation, but it does not affect the operation, and there is no particular change in the values of the monitoring posts that measure the radiation level in the atmosphere.
The cable that broke out was a facility related to the periodic inspection of Unit 3 and was connected to the temporary power panel.
