The duration of paternity leave will be doubled in 2021

More time to hug her baby and organize her new family life.

Emmanuel Macron must confirm this Wednesday the extension of paternity leave - announced this Tuesday evening by the Elysee - during a trip to the Childhood Center and Maternal and Child Protection Center (PMI) in Longjumeau (Essonne).

"Its duration will be doubled," says the Elysee.

From July 1, 2021, it will go from 11 days (weekend included) currently to 25 days (weekend included also).

They will be added to the three days to which fathers are already entitled upon the birth of a child or the arrival in the home of an adopted child.

Or 28 days to nurture, compared to 14 days today (11 + 3).

At the UN, the United States and China clash in a climate of "new Cold War"

The rag is burning between the two greatest world powers.

Donald Trump's United States and Xi Jinping's China clashed strongly on Tuesday at the UN General Assembly, illustrating the risk of a “new Cold War” which threatens the planet in the midst of a pandemic.

"The United Nations must hold China responsible for its actions" at the start of the Covid-19, launched the American president at the opening of this annual diplomatic high mass, virtual because of the health crisis.

He accused the rival power of having allowed the "Chinese virus", a phrase that arouses Beijing's ire, "to infect the world".

Xi, for his part, warned against "the trap of a clash of civilizations".

Its UN ambassador Zhang Jun then took it upon himself to “reject” harshly Donald Trump's “unfounded accusations”.

“If anyone is to be held responsible, it is the United States for losing so many lives with their irresponsible attitude.
