The plan for the 21 celebrations in which the Toro de Lidia Foundation has been working together with Canal Toros de Movistar Plus for the last six months has finally come to light.
Obstacles, endless negotiations, personal interests, and little vision for the future have caused the delay of a plan that was about to remain only a project.
In 21 celebrations, 42 bullfighters will perform, including matadors, bullfighters and rejoneadores,
200 jobs will be created
for the gangs, one of the groups most affected by the covid crisis,
84 cattle from different herds
will
be fought
and the channel will be filled with content theme that contributes so much to the party year after year with its economic injection.
In addition, a fund will be reserved from the image rights of matadors and gangs
to guarantee the celebration of between 20 and 30 celebrations during the 2021 season.
The posters have been made by order of the ranks of last year, each bullfighter who opens the poster has chosen a herd and a partner who completes the hand in hand.
Practically all the bullfighters of the top table of the 2019 ladder have been involved
with the exception of Monrante, Roca Rey or Ferrera
, among others.
The garden of the Lázaro Galdiano museum in Madrid has been the setting for the presentation of the Reconstruction Tour, which
is the first major sector action to face the crisis caused by the pandemic that endangers the world of bullfighting
.
All the parties involved were present on stage: Ignacio
Frauca
, director of the Toros Channel,
Cristina Sánchez
for the FTL,
Antonio Barrera
as representative of ANOET,
Victorino Martín
, president of the FTL, and Pablo
Aguado
.
"Historic day"
Cristina Sánchez defined the day as "
historic because the world of bullfighting has come together and because we do it with a powerful project
that aims to serve as a start to stop a negative trend that the bullfighting sector dragged in recent years and that the covid has accentuated."
For his part, Victorino Martín has highlighted the ultimate goal of this Reconstruction Tour.
"The objective is to create an economic fund
with which we can recover places and encourage novilladas
. There are many who are not and will see benefits in the future thanks to this plan."
The Sevillian matador Pablo Aguado has made reference to the possible criticisms of the posters: "There will surely be criticisms of the posters, the cattle ranches or the squares but the important thing is not to focus there, but rather on the posters, ranches and
third and fourth category that we will be able to recover from next year
. The important thing is not which bullfighters appear on the posters today, but which bullfighters we will be able to help to be on the posters of those towns next year "
The first celebrations of the Reconstruction Tour will take place in Cabra (Córdoba) on September 24 and 25.
