[Global Network Comprehensive Report reporter Zhao Youping] After being ruled that the district election nomination was invalid, Huang Zhifeng, a Hong Kong chaos activist, refused to accept and filed a judicial review. Just now, the Hong Kong High Court rejected his application.

According to Hong Kong’s “East Net” report, Huang Zhifeng, then secretary-general of the disbanded “Hong Kong Independence” organization “Hong Kong Zhifeng”, signed up to run for the South District Council Haiyi West Constituency last year, but was accused of using “Hong Kong Independence” as a “democracy”. The option of "self-determination" was not based on sincere support for the Basic Law. The Returning Officer ruled that his nomination was invalid.

Afterwards, Huang Zhifeng filed a judicial review and asked the court to overturn the decision of the Returning Officer. The Hong Kong High Court issued a judgment today (23rd) stating that Huang Zhifeng chose the wrong legal procedure and therefore rejected his judicial review application. Huang Zhifeng has to pay litigation costs.
