The Covid-19 epidemic continues to progress in Rennes, especially among young people.
Forty-seven new positive cases were thus confirmed in health students at Rennes 1 University. These new contaminations bring the number of health students affected by Covid-19 at the university to 90: 59 students in medicine, 25 in pharmacy and six in dentistry.
On September 13, the Regional Health Agency reported the existence of 43 cases among the students.
The contaminations had taken place during an evening in the center of Rennes, in particular in bars.
Courses still remote this week
The faculty of medicine had asked that all second and third year students likely to have attended the infected students go to be tested at the Rennes University Hospital.
"Nearly 300 students have been tested," said the Regional Health Agency.
The faculty of medicine had suspended face-to-face classes for the second and third years for seven days as of September 14.
This week again, the lessons are being done remotely, said the communication service of the University of Rennes 1.
