More than 100,000 Occitans have been tested over the past week and 7,055 of them have tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the latest bulletin from the regional health agency, the positivity rate remains stable at 5.5%, but now more than a thousand new cases are detected per day on average, against 839 the previous week.

These figures are reflected in hospital statistics.

The region recorded 12 additional hospitalizations and especially 18 more admissions in the intensive care units which now welcome 87 patients.

9 departments out of 13 in the red zone

While the positivity rate of the tests exceeds 10% in Toulouse, 85 people are hospitalized in Haute-Garonne including 22 in intensive care (+4).

After the passage of the Gers into an active circulation zone for the virus, which means that the incidence rate of Covid-19 is greater than 50 cases per 1,000,000 inhabitants, 9 of the 13 departments of Occitanie are now in the red zone.

The exceptions are Ariège, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot and Lozère.
