A new Covid-19 screening site opens Thursday at Place Masséna, in Nice (on level -1 of the shopping arcade, on the Galeries Lafayette side).

Free, the tests will be performed by state-certified nurses and analyzed by an independent accredited laboratory.

To benefit from it, it is mandatory to make an appointment online.

The town hall specifies that health professionals, patients with a prescription and contact cases who have been contacted by the CPAM, the Regional Health Agency or Stop Covid will be priority.

The site will be open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

"Acceleration of the virus"

This initiative of the city of Nice was decided "in the face of the acceleration of the virus on our territory and the growing need for tests [to] give access to the Covid-19 PCR tests to the greatest number".

Since Friday in Nice, due to the resumption of the coronavirus epidemic, the prefecture of the Alpes Maritimes, in agreement with the mayor of Nice, has prohibited private gatherings of more than ten people in parks, gardens, beaches and on the docks of the town.

Large events must limit their tonnage to 1,000 visitors, restaurants and bars must close between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. and the sale of take-out alcohol and its consumption on public roads are prohibited after 8 p.m.
