On September 22, the reporter saw in Tiananmen Square that the giant "Bless the Motherland" flower basket was under construction.
The words "Bless the Motherland" and "One Heart" are written on the flowerbed.
In the basket are placed representative flowers from all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as fruits with auspicious meaning.
Many people were taking photos with the flower baskets under construction.
According to the Beijing Landscaping Bureau, the flower arrangement is expected to be completed and unveiled around September 25. In addition to Tiananmen Square, 10 unique themed flower beds will also be arranged along Chang’an Avenue from Jianguomen to Fuxingmen.
