The Patagonia brand of outdoor clothing and products, known for its pro-environmental stances, is sending a very direct message to American voters ahead of the presidential election on November 3.

On the label of some of her clothes, she calls them to "vote to fire the assholes".

The message ("Vote the assholes out"), which appears only inside a limited edition of shorts, is aimed at all political leaders who deny the existence of climate change, said the company, whose headquarters are located in California.

Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard has been repeating this message "for years," said company spokesperson Tessa Byars.

“This is for all politicians, regardless of party, who deny or downplay the climate crisis and ignore science, not because they ignore it but because they have their pockets full of government money. oil and gas, ”she said in a statement.

"Vote the assholes out", @patagonia's mantra for the US elections tagged on the brand's clothing.

Donal Trump already criticized by the brand

A candidate for a new term, President Donald Trump, already criticized by Patagonia in the past for its environmental policy, regularly makes climate skepticism.

The social media hotspot anger label is Patagonia's latest initiative for the environment and climate.

In 2017, Patagonia modified its website to include in giant letters “the president steals your land”.

The goal?

Publicly denounce a reduction in certain national protected areas.

The firm even ended up joining a legal action brought by NGOs and Native American tribes against the decision.
