Starting from September 21, the crown escalator at Chongqing Lianglukou, the longest escalator in China and the second longest in Asia, will be suspended for 3 months for risk elimination.

  The Crown Escalator at Lianglukou in Chongqing connects Lianglukou in Yuzhong District with Chongqing Railway Station. It was completed and put into operation in 1996.

The Crown Escalator is one of the means of transportation for citizens to travel, and it also has tourism functions, attracting tens of millions of tourists every year to experience it.

  The Crown Escalator at Lianglukou in Chongqing is 112 meters in length, 1.3 meters in width, 52.7 meters in height, 30 degrees inclination, 0.75 meters per second, and the whole process runs for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. There are three elevators, up, down and standby. It is composed of escalators, and each escalator has a maximum carrying capacity of 13,000 passengers per hour. 

  It is understood that the longest escalator in Asia is the escalator at Rongguang Station of the Pyongyang Metro in North Korea, with a length of 150 meters.
