Asked about the
Black Lives Matter
movement
and police violence, Abd Al Malik recognizes that these news resonate with the themes of his works.
But he wouldn't want anyone to misunderstand his message.
"I do not plead for the black cause, I plead for justice", he specifies.
"And it turns out that on the side of the victims, there are a lot of blacks. It's history that wants that, it's linked to slavery, colonialism and all those things."
According to the rapper at the Four Victories of Music, this fight, which joins the larger one against the idea of injustice, is everyone's business.
"The black is today almost the symbol of the victim. But let there be no mistake: it is not the reign of quantity, it is not who suffers the most", he warns. he.
"The reality is that we all have to be on the side of the victims, on the side of justice. This is important."

The solution to the fight for justice is there, according to the 45-year-old artist.
"Our country, France, needs to be exemplary", he proclaims.
"In the sense that we have fabulous institutions and philosophy, but they can only make sense if they apply to everyone equally. There cannot be two-tier citizenship. , which stigmatizes those who have such skin color, sex, etc. "
