This is a first: this week,

4 weddings for 1 honeymoon

welcomes a heterosexual man among its candidate judges.

The pioneer is named Gaëtan and is 34 years old.

He will be in contention alongside Pamela, Veronik and Jennifer.

“It started with a joke,” he told

.

With my partner Angélique, we were preparing our wedding and we came across the show on TV.

She told me that if we took part, we would win.

So I signed us up and a week later the production called us back.

If gay men have already played the game of TF1 competition, never a man in a relationship with a woman had risked it since its launch in 2011. “My wife is very shy, it was out of the question for her to 'going to attend several weddings of people she does not know, while being filmed ", justifies Gaëtan who defines himself as" rather jovial and curious to discover behind the scenes of a TV shoot.

"

"I am not a lace specialist"

Knowing that one of the scoring criteria is the outfit, was he not afraid of being at a disadvantage and losing precious points by competing with a costume necessarily more sober than any wedding dress?

“I hadn't even thought of that,” he says.

I figured it would be my wife's dress that was going to be graded.

She was glad to learn that it wouldn't and so the attention was not going to be focused on her.

"

For the 30-something, textile considerations or the sense of decoration are not the priority.

“I am not a lace or flower specialist.

I may have had a less keen eye than the other candidates, he says.

I focused more on the ambiance of the weddings than on the details.

"

Throughout the week, the show's faithful will discover Gaëtan's patter, perfectly at ease among the other candidates.

He confirms: “We got along really well, it was quite fluid.

We were kind.

I was lucky because I know it wouldn't have been like that with other candidates I saw on TV.

"

Delighted with the experience - and impressed by the logistics required to achieve

4 weddings for 1 honeymoon

- Gaëtan hopes to encourage other bride and groom to register as candidates.

A word of advice, however: it is better not to have an overly sensitive male ego.

"It was common that we were told, on the set: 'Come on, girls!" ", He says, hastily specifying that he was not taking it badly.
