In the Zhenyuan County Museum in Qingyang City, Gansu Province, there are pottery water pipes that have been preserved for more than 4,900 years. They are mostly made of sand-filled red pottery, with large and small openings at both ends, which can be buckled in sections and are suitable for drainage.

Its discovery traces the history of human use of drainage pipes back to prehistoric times. It is the earliest drainage pipe discovered so far. It will be designated as a national first-class cultural relic in 2020.
