Facial pain ... a revealing sign of vitamin B12 deficiency

Low levels of vitamin B12 and iron are among the main causes of anemia. A person develops this when there are not enough healthy red blood cells in the body to deliver oxygen to the tissues.

Usually the first symptoms of anemia are loss of appetite, constipation, headache, irritability, and difficulty concentrating.

However, there is another important symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency that is often overlooked.

Vitamin B12 is necessary for the body to function properly and perform many vital functions, including the creation of DNA and red blood cells.

It is essential for healthy nerve tissue and brain function.

Therefore, often the first sign of its deficiency is facial pain, which, as a rule, appears only on one side.

According to a new study, this pain varies from person to person, so it is very difficult to describe it, as it can be a slight pain in the cheekbones directly under the eye, or a sharp pain in the forehead, and sometimes the pain is transmitted from the forehead to the nose.

The second sign of vitamin B12 deficiency is paleness of the skin that sometimes turns yellow, as the insufficient production of red blood cells is the main reason for this, according to what the Russian "Sputnik" agency reported on the "profile" website.

The experts pointed out that in order to prevent vitamin B12 deficiency, the amount of animal products in the diet, especially meat and dairy products, must be increased. If no results are obtained, doctors recommend vitamin B12 injections.
