"Shanshan Umbrella Dance", an arrangement of traditional performing arts in the eastern part of Tottori Prefecture, which dances using colorful umbrellas with bells, was performed in Tottori City under the clear autumn sky.

"Shanshan Umbrella Dance" is an arrangement of traditional performing arts in the eastern part of Tottori prefecture, where you dance while ringing a Japanese umbrella with a bell.

The summer festival to show off this dance all at once was scheduled to be held in Tottori City last month, but it was canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

The Western-style building "Jinpukaku" in Tottori City, which has been designated as a national important cultural property, has set up a place to invite a team in the city to perform an umbrella dance on the 20th so that tourists can see it.

When the two team leaders shook and turned the umbrellas they picked up and danced, a light tone called "Shangshan" was heard.

In Tottori City on the 20th, which was the second day of the consecutive holidays, the blue sky spread from the morning, and the visitors enjoyed taking pictures of the dancers.

A 35-year-old man who visited from Gifu prefecture for sightseeing said, "The umbrella was shining and very beautiful. I want to see a lot of people dancing next year."

Tatsuya Sakane, director of Jinpukaku, said, "The atmosphere of the umbrella and the sound of the bells are attractive dances, so I want to make it an event that will be passed down to the next era."
