Demonstration test of self-driving bus resumed Otsu Last month, a contact accident with a sidewalk fence 14:27 on September 19

Otsu City had suspended the operation of the bus that caused the accident during the demonstration experiment of autonomous driving, but took safety measures and resumed the operation from the 19th.

This self-driving bus has been tested by Otsu City on public roads since July, and last month it was operated because it caused an accident in contact with the sidewalk fence while carrying passengers. I was pausing.

Under these circumstances, Otsu City temporarily suspended the experiment in places where passengers are on board or where the width of the road is narrow, and took safety measures such as manually driving, and resumed operation from the 19th. It was.

Since the first flight on the morning of the 19th had passengers at the time of departure, the driver held the steering wheel for all sections and drove, but if there were no passengers or one of the planned 10 round trips was "forwarded". It means collecting data on autonomous driving without passengers.

Kiyoshi Yoshimura, chief of the Keihan Bus ICT Promotion Department, who is in charge of bus operation, said, "I would like to make use of this experience so that I can operate without causing accidents during the future experiment period."

The demonstration experiment is scheduled to be conducted until the 27th of this month.
