Bosses invited to "comply"

On the sidewalk, police officers patrol in civilian clothes, slaloming among tables and terraces, and the slightest offense is punished.

"You still have two customers who are served standing on the terrace, while the law requires you to serve all seated customers. You are therefore in violation, sir."

For the manager, no fine, it will be a formal notice, but this call to order in front of his customers goes badly.

"There are really armored terraces, here we really respect space, you can see, 1 meter. I find it a bit excessive," he laments.

But exceptions are no longer the rule.

"I invite you to comply without delay, sir", ask the police.

"The customers who are still standing, you offer them a seat, those who move must be masked. I know that it is complicated for you, but there really is no more tolerance. The health situation does not. allows more. Okay? "

"We can no longer afford to do pedagogy"

For Commissioner Ludovic Giral, two weeks after a first patrol, it is time to toughen up.

"The health situation has deteriorated considerably, everyone knows it. We can no longer afford to do pedagogy: now it is the strict application of the rule, and as soon as there is a breach there is sanction. Sanction equal formal notice, verbalization and, if applicable, request for closure. "
