In the case of the acquisition of witnesses over the corruption case of an IR / integrated resort facility, the Tokyo District Prosecutor's Office said that a member of the House of Representatives Tsukasa Akimoto tried to perjury the bribery side in a trial and handed over 5 million yen in cash. I was charged with violating the law.

Akimoto has been prosecuted for the fourth time, including corruption cases.

Tsukasa Akimoto (48), a member of the House of Representatives, was indicted, and Daisuke Matsuura (51), an acquaintance and representative of a management consulting company, was also indicted as a co-conspirator.



According to the Tokyo District Prosecutor's Office, Akimoto conspired with Matsuura and others, and in the case of IR corruption in which he was charged, he gave a former adviser of a Chinese company on the bribery side cash 500 as a reward for witnessing a lie in a trial. He has been charged with the acquisition of witnesses, etc., who violated the Organized Crime Punishment Law, for example, because he tried to give him 10,000 yen.



According to the people concerned, Mr. Matsuura stated in response to the investigation that "the 5 million yen I tried to give was prepared by being asked by Representative Akimoto to replace it."



Rep. Akimoto has been charged with perjurying another former adviser of a Chinese company on the bribery side and trying to give him 20 million yen in cash, and this is the fourth time he has been charged with including corruption cases.



According to lawyers, Congressman Akimoto has denied involvement in a series of witness acquisitions.
