The prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône adapts its obligation to wear a mask.

She revised downwards, on Wednesday, the number of municipalities where wearing a mask is compulsory, considering that "the number of positive cases for covid-19 is not significant" in some cities which have fewer than 10 people infected .

To curb the spread of the epidemic, the prefect had imposed Monday the wearing of the mask from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. in 27 municipalities where the incidence rate of the disease exceeds the alert threshold of 100 per 100,000 inhabitants the last seven days.

Insignificant number of cases

But, two days later, more than 17 municipalities are concerned according to the decree published on Wednesday.

"While some municipalities are experiencing a rate of more than 100 per 100,000 inhabitants, the number of positive cases is not significant, sometimes with less than 10 people," explained the prefecture.

Among the ten municipalities excluded from the list is Mimet.

Small town whose mayor had expressed his misunderstanding on Tuesday when he discovered that his town was among the 27 concerned by the mandatory mask, although "the health authorities have not informed him of any case of Covid-19".

The list "will be updated every week on the website of the prefecture and the Regional Health Agency," she said.
