Recently, the Ministry of Public Security deployed a special rectification action to "combine illegal fishing in the Yangtze River Basin". The Yangtze River Shipping Public Security Bureau and public security agencies in Nantong, Suzhou and other places respectively uncovered criminal cases of illegal fishing gangs.
As of the end of August, public security agencies across the country have detected more than 2,900 criminal cases of illegal fishing, arrested more than 4,350 criminal suspects, and seized more than 9,000 vessels involved.
