Emily Ratajkowski wants to “redeem her image”.

Literally.

In an article, published by

NY Mag

, she recounts having been forced to buy back works of art in her image produced without her knowledge, but she especially evokes the abuse of power and sexual assault of which she was the victim during her career. .

And the actress and model names precisely one of her attackers: the photographer Jonathan Leder.

Thanks to @tinatyrell @roosterkitsch and @ericmestman for creating this visual to accompany my essay.

“Buying Myself Back” is an extremely personal piece about image, power and consent.

Thank you @nymag @thecut.

She explains that ten years ago, when she was a still unknown 20-year-old model, she participated in a photo shoot organized by the magazine

Darius

, for which the photographer worked.

She says that when she arrived there, she discovered that she had to wear lingerie.

Later, she explains that she accepted the wine offered to her by the photographer, to "appear more mature".

Not said a word

Drunk, she would have felt obliged to agree to be photographed naked.

“The second I dropped my clothes, a part of me fell apart.

I started to float outside of myself (…) I had drunk so much wine that black spots swelled and floated in front of my eyes, ”she says.

It was after this nude session, while the photographer continued to make her drink, that she was allegedly the victim of what she describes as sexual assault.

“Everything that happened next is a blur, I don't remember kissing him, but I remember his fingers suddenly inside me.

It was pushing, like no one had touched me before, and since.

I grabbed her wrist and forced her fingers out.

I didn't say a word.

He got up suddenly and fled in silence down the stairs, ”she concludes.

Jonathan Leder's agent immediately reacted to these accusations.

“We are too upset to read Ms. Ratajkowski's latest false statements.

Obviously Mr. Leder strongly denies these allegations of sexual assault, ”said an employee of Imperial Publishing, who represents the photographer.
