The coronavirus killed 31,045 in total in France, including 46 in one day, according to the latest report published Wednesday evening by the authorities.

The number of new infections is also on the rise, with 9,784 new cases in 24 hours.

Nearly 8,000 new contaminations had been recorded on Tuesday, and more than 6,000 on Monday.

The positivity rate (number of people tested positive compared to the number of people tested) remains at 5.4%. 

2,976 new hospitalizations were recorded over the last seven days, including 508 in intensive care.

In addition, 84 departments are classified in a situation of moderate or high vulnerability.
