Vegetable retail prices last week fell below normal or below normal September 15th, 18:13

The retail price of vegetables, which had been significantly higher than normal at one point due to lack of sunshine, has been at the same level as normal or below normal as of last week due to the recovery in shipment volume.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries checks the retail prices of eight main types of vegetables every week at 470 stores nationwide, including supermarkets.

According to this, the national average price last week is 12% cheaper for lettuce, 7% cheaper for tomatoes, and 3% cheaper for cucumbers and green onions, respectively.

The prices of these vegetables were much higher than normal last month due to the lack of sunshine, but they have been at the same level as normal or below normal due to the increase in shipments since then.

On the other hand, the price of cabbage has remained high at 1.5 times the normal price as of last week, but it has decreased by about 7% from the previous week.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, "The price of cabbage, which had been soaring for a while, has exceeded its peak and is expected to reach the level of normal in the future. Overall, the price of vegetables may be settling down." ..
