The New York University Abu Dhabi Art Gallery announced that it is organizing a virtual trip to Brooklyn, New York, in the United States of America, accompanied by the artist, Diana Al-Hadid, to celebrate the launch of his eighth digital archive for the Diana Al-Hadid exhibition "The Illusion of the Parties", as part of a series of virtual artistic events titled "Investigating: Archives." And meetings », on September 22 this year.

New York University Abu Dhabi's Chief Curator and Executive Director of the Art Gallery, Maya Allison, will join Diana Al-Hadid at her studio in Brooklyn, New York, for the virtual visit, which will be broadcast live next Tuesday (6:30 pm UAE time).

During the event, Diana will shed light on her solo exhibition previously hosted by the Art Gallery, discuss the impact of the new Corona virus on her creative process and her career. The event will be broadcast on the virtual chat application "Zoom", as well as on the Facebook page of the NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery.

The exhibition, which was the "art gallery" the first stage of its display, came after one of the main works shown, "The Illusion of the Limbs," a term referring to the feeling experienced by the owner of a missing limb, such as an arm or a leg, as if this limb is present and able to move.

The "Illusion of the Limbs" exhibition, hosted by New York University Abu Dhabi, combined colossal sculptures, spectral-colored wall paintings, and surreal bronze statues, to occupy an area of ​​about 7,000 square feet of corridor.

Diana's masterpiece "The Illusion of the Parties" was unveiled for the first time at The Secession Foundation in Vienna, then moved to the New York University Abu Dhabi Art Gallery in 2016, and then to the David Winton Bell exhibition at Brown University in 2017, and the three institutions supported the publication. The book that was released on the occasion of hosting the exhibition at New York University Abu Dhabi.

Young Audiences Guidance

The launch of the digital archive of the "Illusion of the Parties" exhibition will allow access to the first digital copy of Diana Al-Hadid's main monographic publication, as well as a guidebook for young audiences, the exhibition brochure and artworks, and photos of the artworks included in the exhibition.

During the event, Diana will shed light on her exhibition and discuss the impact of the emerging corona virus on her creative process and her career.
