Kumamoto University Researcher Killed Was Killed From Evening to Midnight on September 14th, 11:50

In the case of the murder of a female researcher at Kumamoto University in Kumamoto City, it was found in an interview with investigators that the woman was believed to have been killed during the period from the evening of the day before the body was found to midnight.

Police are investigating a 67-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of abandoning his body, suspecting he was involved in the murder.

On the 7th of this month, Chisato Narahara (35), a researcher at Kumamoto University who lives nearby, was found murdered in a side ditch on the side of the city road in Honjo, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City. Kazuhiro Kumagai, a 67-year-old unemployed cleaner who lived in the apartment, was arrested on suspicion of abandoning his body and sent to the public prosecutor's office on the morning of the 14th.



According to police investigations so far, an acquaintance has confirmed that Mr. Narahara was working at the university until 5 pm on the 6th of this month, the day before he was found in the body.



In addition, according to the investigators, it seems that Mr. Narahara was killed until midnight on the 6th due to the condition of the body.



Kumagai is believed to have acted alone, and stated to the investigation that he "knows the contact information".



The police contacted Mr. Narahara, and after that, he suspected that he was involved in the murder before abandoning the body, and is investigating his actions during this period.
