PODCAST

On September 2, 1870, Napoleon III capitulated in Sedan to the Prussian army, precipitating the end of the Second Empire in France.

Jean Des Cars, specialist in the history of Europe 1, could not miss the opportunity to look back on this milestone, 150 years after the events.

He has therefore devoted the first episode of the new season of

Au cœur de l 'Histoire to it

, a story that you will be able to discover from Monday, September 14, on our site, Apple podcasts, and your usual listening platforms.

This season, the

At the Heart of History team is

deepening its work on storytelling, notably through the introduction of thematic series.

Each month, they will explore a major issue over several episodes covering various historical periods.

Thus, from Wednesday September 16, you will be able to listen to the first of a series of 5 episodes on "The shadow advisers who influenced the powerful", which will take you from the court of Catherine de Medici to Imperial Russia. Nicholas II ...

Broadcast, like last year, from Monday to Thursday, the episodes will be slightly lengthened, and published in two distinct parts.

Finally, Jean Des Cars will join forces with the curators of several major national museums to offer you original stories, in connection with some of the most ambitious exhibitions of the year.
