In light of the resumption of the COVID-19 epidemic in the Alpes-Maritimes, all public actors must take the necessary measures to limit the progression of the virus and protect the most vulnerable populations.

So I made the decision today to cancel all the public events scheduled to date by the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council,

Charles Ange Ginésy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council, announced on Friday.

The department, classified in the red zone for active circulation of Covid-19 since August 27, has taken the decision to cancel all events intended for the general public.

The Heritage Days scheduled for September 19 and 20, the Department's senior entertainment program, the Seniors' Autumn concerts and the 16th edition of the C Pas Classique Festival initially scheduled for December 4 to 6 in Acropolis have been canceled.

Mask now mandatory in 18 municipalities

This announcement comes the day after the decision of the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Bernard Gonzalez, to make the mask "mandatory in all public spaces, public places, and / or accessible to the public in the following municipalities: Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Grasse, le Cannet, Menton, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Vallauris, Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Mougins, Vence, Villeneuve-Loubet, Beausoleil, Valbonne, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin , Carros and the Trinity ”.
