Mongolian teacher Liu Xiuqing has been in the teaching profession for 26 years. Because she was in a Tibetan boarding school, she didn't speak Tibetan at first, so she learned fluent Tibetan in two years in order to communicate with the children.
Since the students stayed at school for the entire semester, she was both a teacher and a "childcare worker", and she was affectionately called "mother teacher" by the students.
