At 6:24 on September 9, the Fire Rescue Detachment Command Center of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province received an alarm stating that there was a traffic accident in the Pingshang service area of ​​Shenhai Expressway towards Chaozhou and someone was trapped.

  After receiving the police, the detachment command center immediately dispatched the Jiexi Hepo Fire and Rescue Station to the scene for disposal, and successively dispatched Puning and Secret Service Fire Stations for reinforcements. A total of 12 fire trucks and 60 commanders and fighters were dispatched.

At the same time, the city’s emergency management bureau, transportation bureau, ecological environment bureau and other departments, as well as technical experts such as CNOOC LNG Company and Jieyang Hongtu Transportation Company, will be coordinated to assist in the disposal.

  After arriving at the scene, it was discovered through reconnaissance that: the accident site was 1200 meters away from the Jieyang West Exit of Ningbo-Dongguan Expressway, and two hazardous chemical vehicles were rear-ended at the scene. (The reserve is 56 cubic meters). The accident caused a partial leak of the LNG tanker, and two drivers were trapped in the vehicle.

After full rescue, the two trapped drivers were successfully rescued and handed over to medical staff for treatment.

  After intense rescue work, firefighters used wooden plugging tools to successfully plug the tank truck leak at around 13:10 on the same day.

As of 17:30 of the same day, the remaining gas of the leaked liquefied gas tanker was being dumped and transferred.
