While the number of hospitalizations in intensive care has more than doubled in a week in the Alpes-Maritimes, classified "red" in the face of the Covid-19 epidemic, the prefect of the department announces this Wednesday evening of new restrictive measures.

They relate first of all to “drinking establishments and restaurants”.

These establishments will no longer be able to open after 11 p.m. in municipalities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants and will have to lower the curtain at 1 a.m. in the largest.

These new schedules come into effect this Wednesday evening and will remain so until October 15.

"In-depth studies" for gatherings of people

In a press release, Bernard Gonzalez also announced "strict supervision of all gatherings of more than ten people on public roads or in a place open to the public".

For those who will bring together between ten and 500 people, a declaration must be sent to the prefecture "at least three days before the event".

The other events which will bring together more than 500 participants, an "in-depth study" will be carried out and "the opinion of the ARS and the mayor of the municipality concerned will be formally requested".

Prohibitions may be imposed if sanitary conditions are not met.

These measures are taken while “the indicators [incidence rate, positivity rate and number of clusters] are still on the rise” and are used “to prevent and limit the consequences of the epidemic on the health of the population”, the prefect advances.
