To get an idea of what postmodernism really is, one must start earlier - with modernism: the years between 1850 and 1950 were characterized by a rationality that formulated ideologies, religious dogmas and a strong belief in science.
In response, postmodernism was born.
It said things like that science is not truth, that man is a subjective being and that reality can be deconstructed.
According to postmodernism, everything is relative.
