On September 9, the National Library of China celebrated its 111th anniversary.
The National Library of China officially announced 15 award-winning books in the social sciences, popular science, and children's categories of the 15th Wenjin Book Awards.
Among the books awarded this time, there are 6 social science categories, namely "Hu Tianhan and Moon Reflecting in the West: Three Thousand Years of Vicissitudes of the Silk Road", "Exploration of Educational Issues", "Cotton Empire: A Global History of Capitalism", and "Ten Lectures by Su Shi" "Climate Casino: Risks, Uncertainties and Economics of Global Warming", "The Fate of Rome: Climate, Disease, and the End of Empire"; 5 popular science categories, namely "Here is China", "Blowing Fire" and "China" "Research on Ancient Mechanical Restoration" "1 Minute Physics: "Interesting Popular Science Column of the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (1st Series)"; 4 types of children, namely "Dawa on the Snow Mountain", "Two Geniuses", and "Five Thousand Years Liangzhu" Kingdom" "Sand and Stardust".
Another 35 kinds of books were rated as recommended books.
It is reported that the selection of the 15th Wenjin Book Award was officially launched on December 3, 2019, and the online submission was realized for the first time.
In the recommendation stage, a total of 1,890 kinds of books recommended by libraries, publishers, readers, and judges were received, and 1610 kinds of books were effectively participated in the evaluation, and the number of recommendations reached a new high.
Among them, 201 publishing houses participated in the recommendation and 68 libraries participated in the recommendation and preliminary evaluation activities.
