, the singer Sinclair has been broadcasting since July the titles of his new album scheduled for 2021. He broadcasts them on his Facebook, YouTube and Instagram accounts, thus avoiding record labels.

"I am 50 years old now, over there they call me 'Monsieur' while serving me a coffee, they ask me if I want to sit down," he breathes exasperated.

"In record companies, we are in the development of artists, I want to do things at my own pace, with my crazy ideas and my own bullshit."

"I have a fairly nuclear way of creating and we must not interfere in it. I must do things as I see them," Sinclair warns.

"I fought a lot with the record companies I was in before. I want to be left alone anyway."

Do at your own pace

For the former juror of

La Nouvelle Star

, doing without record companies is also releasing the titles he wants, when he wants.

“I've been making songs for years and leaving them on my hard drive,” says Sinclair.

“And then I moved down south and it completely changed my life: a lot less pressure, I relaxed and I became completely independent. It clicked and I started releasing my titles. I'm like a craftsman, I do everything from A to Z, from recording to image and communication. It gives me absolute freedom. Nobody comes and tells me what to do or not to do. "

Why keep the album format, since the singer broadcasts all or almost all his songs upstream?

"I find the album format obsolete. But I like the collected format. That is to say, release titles every month, with remixes and collect all that on a disc with two or three more titles", answers- he.

"What's interesting about this way of doing things is that I can create a song and plan to release it at the end of the month, only to release another at the last moment because it's raining and I find that this one goes better with my mood. "

This next album, or collection, of Sinclair is scheduled for early 2021. It will then be his first for 10 years and his eponymous record.

An album that is not the singer's favorite.

"I should have climbed a mountain top and thought about my life then, instead of making a record," Sinclair laughs about his own record.
