Sylvie Pialat at the Normandy hotel for the Deauville Festival 2020 -
C.Vié
Sylvie Pialat can be delighted with the success of Erasing History in theaters since August 26.
The producer loves all American theaters.
She took advantage of the pandemic to refine new projects.
Sylvie Pialat, producer among others of
Timbuktu
, covered with César in 2015 and
Erasing History
, is also a juror at the 46 th Deauville Festival.
While the irresistible comedy of the duo Kervern / Delépine is a (deserved) success in the cinema, the producer indulges in a passion to which she rarely has time to devote herself: seeing films on the big screen.
"I really enjoy the relief of the excellent results of
Clear History
."
she admits to
20 Minutes
.
We hesitated for a long time to release the film on August 26th but when we found out that
Tenet
kept this date, we sighed with relief!
Being leaned against this locomotive could only serve the film.
And it was the case.

A hole in the pennies
Sylvie Pialat has therefore found a smile again, after sacred moments of anguish because the pandemic has dealt a severe blow to film professionals.
“We are not the most to be pitied but everything stopped suddenly.
It's complicated for small structures like ours which are not world treasury champions.
It is as if you do not receive your salary for a month: a hole appears!
"The hole is being filled with the results of
Erase History,
which has exceeded 300,000 spectators and is now aiming for double.
"Boys, as I call Gustave Kervern and Bruno Delépine know how to talk to people who meet in their cinema," says Sylvie Pialat.
Day by day
His next film
Tout le monde aime Jeanne
by Céline Devault with Blanche Gardin and Vincent Macaigne can only be shot next spring in Lisbon.
“It's always frustrating because everything is ready but we take the opportunity to refine the script.
The Covid-19 will have taught us to take things from day to day.
"Between supervising the editing of
Albatros
, Xavier Beauvois
'
new film, and the Deauville competition, the producer has plenty to take care of.
"I love all American cinemas, even
Rambo
and
Predator,
which I discovered with my husband Maurice Pialat who, which greatly surprises his fans, loved this type of film".
A dream family
By tasting the eight films submitted for the competition Sylvie Pialat got to know Bruno Podalydès who is also part of the jury.
“I had already worked with her brother Denis and it confirmed to me that I would have dreamed of being the sister of the Podalydès brothers,” she jokes.
We would have had a great time!
»She already seems to be spending sunny moments in Deauville where very full rooms give a smile.
