A huge ball of hair removed in a teen's stomach due to Rapunzel syndrome

Doctors removed a 7-kilogram ball of hair from the stomach of a 17-year-old teenager, who had been chewing her hair since childhood, according to the British Mirror website.

The teenager complained of severe pain in her stomach, and she was subsequently transferred to the hospital, where doctors removed the capillary ball in an operation that took 6 hours.

The condition is known as Rapunzel syndrome, and is taken from the German fairy tale of a girl with long hair, and it is a rare gut condition that occurs in people who eat hair (obsessive eating of hair).

There are only 90 known cases worldwide.
