The establishment concerned is a retirement home in Séverac-le-Château.

On Wednesday, an employee and five residents felt the first symptoms.

They were immediately tested and on Friday the result fell: all positive.

Massive screening of 75 residents and 63 staff is then organized, and on Sunday, the results revealed that around fifty people were concerned.

"We are working to find reinforcements"

Two elderly people had to be transported to Rodez hospital, in stable condition.

But with 11 employees stopped, it is now necessary to provide reinforcement, as explained by Benjamin Arnal, from the ARS of Aveyron.

"We are actively working to find reinforcement in the sector for nursing staff. I am thinking of nursing firms in the sector, we will see with our partners for service agents, really call for reinforcement and solidarity since we must not not only to replace those affected by the coronavirus, but also because to supervise and take care of the elderly affected by the virus, we need a little more staff ".

The town hall is appealing to any person, caregiver or not, to constitute a citizen reserve who could come and lend a hand.

In the meantime, it is the re-containment in the establishment.

As in spring, residents are forced to take their meals in their rooms and visits are prohibited.
