"I belong to the world of dreams," sang Kanesha on Saturday evening, dressed in her traditional dress.

On the set of

The Voice Kids

, the new recruit of the team of singer and coach Jenifer, transported his audience in a dream of the East.

“I was really excited.

It was like a dream, ”she told

20 Minutes

.

A dream that she thought was unreachable before performing

Soppana Sundari in

front of several million viewers

, a Tamil song whose vocal complexity stunned the show's coaches.

“Before going on stage, I was very excited, impatient.

I told myself that I had to give myself completely because

The Voice

is an important step on my path ”.

A regular on TV shows

Since her earliest childhood, Kanesha has been on the road to success.

At the age of three, she reached the third step of her first singing competition.

Over the years, she has had a series of filmed participations.

She notably joined

Kids Voice Tour

, the

Swiss

Voice Kids

, but did not manage to pass the second stage of the selections.

In 2019, she presents herself again and sings the suffering of the Tamil people during the civil war in Sri Lanka in her mother tongue.

His performance was noticed by Marcos Escudero, in charge of the casting of the program, who invited him to appear at the French telecrochet of the TF1 channel.

“I'm used to cameras,” says the young singer.

When I sing, I don't see much so it doesn't bother me at all ”.

What the aspiring star prefers is feeling the presence of the audience.

A remarkable performance

For the blind auditions of

The Voice Kids

, Kanesha therefore chose to interpret a song whose rhythm was to make the coaches jiggle.

“Through

Soppana Sundari

, I wanted to say that I love dance, music, and my language.

The message the song sends is that I have the power to turn sad people into happy people ”.

Happy were the coaches who, spellbound, buzzed in unison.

Shortly after the first notes, everyone discovered the confidence with which the frail figure of the young girl trod the stage.

“When the four coaches turned around, I was happy and confident.

I let go of all my fear and sang the best I could so that everyone was happy, that the audience was very happy ”.

Jenifer even told him: "It's been a few seasons now that I have under my belt and I have never heard that voice.

I have never heard so much originality.

[…] It's haute couture for me ”.

"I have something with the music, I mustn't let go"

This very particular voice, Kanesha inherited it from her father.

Professional singer, he transmits to him the love of music.

From an early age, this piano and vînâ player, an Indian string instrument she has been practicing since 2017, knows that music is part of her.

“Since I was little, I've been singing all the time,” she says.

"I have something with the music, I mustn't let go".

This, his two sisters and his parents understood it well.

Fans of the first hour, they are the ones who listen to her, correct her, and encourage her to go through the castings.

"My family encouraged me a lot, my friends and mistress Suzanne (her teacher) too".

Will we have the opportunity to listen to him sing in another repertoire for the rest of the adventure?

“Yes,” Kanesha replies.

I also sing in French and English.

For me, the language is not an obstacle, I feel the same things ”.
