In September, colleges and universities across China successively announced the start of school dates. Including foreign students, all college students returned to the school in batches and reported in batches.

Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, some international students cannot return to school on time as in previous years, ushering in a new semester.

Fan Wenqiang from Taiyuan University of Technology is one of them.

At the beginning of January this year, like other international students, Fan Wenqiang chose to return to his country during the winter vacation to celebrate the New Year.

What he didn't expect was, "This stay, more than half a year has passed."

In the second half of the sophomore semester, the school "cloud" started, and Fan Wenqiang started "cloud classroom".

From being at a loss to what to do later, it was inseparable from the patient guidance of the teacher on the other side of the screen.

"My substitute teachers are very enthusiastic and remind us to attend classes on time every day. They record lectures as they lecture, correct our homework and answer our doubts." Fan Wenqiang said.

In order not to let his Chinese proficiency decline, he also used his own way to consolidate Chinese.

"I taught my 13-year-old cousin to learn Chinese, and she was very interested." Fan Wenqiang said that the cousin also hopes to have the opportunity to study in China like him.

Facing the upcoming new semester, Fan Wenqiang looked forward to "walking into the campus and sitting in the classroom as usual."

He said that although he is not in China now, his heart is always in China.

"At home, I pay attention to the epidemic situation in China every day and know that the epidemic in China has been successfully controlled. I am very happy because I know that the day when I return to school is not far away." Fan Wenqiang said, the first thing after school starts, It was to visit his teacher, because his parents taught him to "be a teacher a day and be a father for life."

Also looking forward to returning to school is Kim Min-kyu from South Korea, currently a second-year graduate student of physical education major at Taiyuan University of Technology.

He graduated from Kookmin University in South Korea. During the university, he was an exchange student at Shenyang Institute of Physical Education, China, which made him have a keen interest in Chinese culture.

On the recommendation of a Chinese friend, Jin Minkui decided to go to Shanxi Taiyuan University of Technology for postgraduate studies.

With anticipation, Jin Minkui officially opened his second life of studying abroad in China in 2019.

Like Fan Wenqiang, after returning to China during the winter vacation, Jin Minkui has been out of school for more than half a year because of a sudden epidemic.

"During my stay in Korea, although I experienced a lot of difficulties in terms of position and language, the teachers and classmates gave me a lot of help, so I was able to persevere in learning and successfully complete my homework." Jin Minkui said.

At the same time, he insists on improving his Chinese proficiency by watching Chinese TV dramas or movies, and sometimes communicates with his Chinese friends in Seoul and practices oral English.

In his opinion, it is necessary to invest a lot of time and energy in learning foreign languages.

When it comes to school opening, Kim Min-kyu is full of expectations.

He has a simple and beautiful wish: "Go back to school and have a hot pot with teachers and classmates."

It is understood that the school currently has 512 foreign students. As of August 31, there are 273 in China and 239 overseas.
