Autotune, still subject to criticism

"The idea with the autoune is really to use your voice like any other musical instrument. Like a guitar you put an effect on: wah-wah, distortion. .. ", indicates the singer.

"I think it's cool to be able to twist the sound, and even more so that of the voice. We tried to do it a little more, but without using it as a corrector. So the autotune s 'hear and it's completely assumed because I find that it brings something. "

Yelle knows that this technical tool is still frowned upon by part of the public.

But for her, that's not a problem.

"Maybe they will figure it out later, in a few years. There are purists in certain areas, they might change their mind one day when they are particularly touched by a particular song."

Second single from the album "L'Ère du verseau", the title "Je t'aime encore" is emblematic of this artistic use of the autotune.

This melancholy song speaks of its sometimes complex relationship with the French public, while the international public very quickly adopted an artist who only sings in French.

"With France, we did not always understand each other, but it does not matter. We love each other anyway and I still have many facets to show you", she explains on this subject.
