The French President, Emmanuel Macron, did not hesitate to reveal what happened in his meetings with politicians in Lebanon, and to threaten to impose sanctions on corrupt politicians, but he preferred to preserve the secrets of his meeting with Fairuz, saying that he respects the "secret" that the "neighbor of the moon" is surrounded by itself. .

In a press conference at the Pine Palace in Beirut, Macron was asked by journalists to talk about what happened in the meeting on Monday night, so the French president was keen to answer only what was related to him personally.

"Regarding Fayrouz, allow me to preserve the privacy of this meeting, I can say what I felt and what I personally said to her," he said, "I said that I feel awe to be in front of a diva like Fairouz .. this patriotic artist, and to see her beauty, and this magic." That it enjoys, and this political clarity and political awareness ».

Macron considered that Fayrouz's voice is not "an accessory in such a crisis."

He said: "I think she carries, in a way, perhaps unrealistic or unreal, part of Lebanon's dream, and her voice is very important for all the generations that accompanied her."

He continued, saying that Fairuz's voice still mattered.

He added, "I will definitely not talk about it, because I think that this is part of the dream and the secret that she surrounds herself with .. This secret is part of Fairuz."

In a phrase that reflects the depth of the meeting and the keenness to preserve its secrets, Macron concluded his statements to reporters, saying: "We spoke ... and also our silence."

The meeting remained shrouded in an aura of secrecy until the official Fayrouz page on the Facebook platform published photos of the meeting, which lasted an hour and a quarter.

Fayrouz appeared in the pictures with a simple view that reflects her nature, and with a shy smile, next to her Macron in her home in Rabieh area in Inelias, Mount Lebanon.

In compliance with the rules and procedures for preventing Coronavirus, the Lebanese artist wore a transparent mask that did not obscure her beloved smile to the hearts of her fans.

Fayrouz wore a black embroidered cloak, covered the front of her head with a traditional black handkerchief, and seemed happy after Macron awarded her the Legion of Honor, the highest honor in France.

Three photographs showed the Fayrouz house, which is adorned with pictures of her family, her late husband Asi Rahbani, ancient and religious icons of saints on the walls, and one of them depicts multiple faces of Turquoise, painted by the Croatian artist Justina Cisse Tomasio Sursock, dating back to 1980.

After the meeting, Macron told Al-Jadid TV that Fairuz "is very beautiful and strong. I talked with her about everything that she represents for me .. about Lebanon we love, and many of us are waiting for him .. about the longing that haunts us."

When asked about his favorite song for Fayrouz, he answered that it is "to Beirut", which is the song that was broadcast by most of the local Lebanese channels, during the presentation of pictures of the massive explosion in the Beirut port on the fourth of August, which killed at least 190 people, destroyed entire neighborhoods, and caused displacement. 250,000 people, businesses demolished, and basic grain supplies.

Throughout her rich history, Fayrouz has won the admiration of other French presidents.

President Francois Mitterrand awarded her the Commander of Arts and Letters Medal in 1988, and President Jacques Chirac awarded her the Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1998. Scenes broadcast on local television showed Macron's escorts carrying a plaque covered with blue cloth, which Fairouz presented to her French guest.

A solid friendship

Fairouz has strong friendship with the French state, which was strengthened in 1975, when she appeared for the first time on French television, as part of the program "Special Matteo", presented by her friend, the French artist, Mireille Mathieu, and there was the song "My Love in the Summer."

This song was released before Lebanon entered into a civil war that lasted between the years: 1975 and 1990, a period in which it was still popular with the title "The Switzerland of the Middle East", as it attracted Hollywood celebrities to its restaurants and magnificent beaches.

Fairouz rarely speaks to the media, despite her songs being broadcast over the airwaves from Rabat to Baghdad.
