One month has passed since the explosion in Beirut's port district, in which 220 people were killed, thousands injured and large parts of the city destroyed.

Work on renovating buildings and infrastructure has begun, including the country's National Museum.

The museum is located 3 kilometers south of the harbor where the explosion took place.

Experts from the Louvre in Paris are participating in the work together with the Lebanese Antiquities Authority.

The multinational cultural organization Aliph is responsible for the funding, Aliph, which is dedicated to protecting cultural heritage threatened by conflict.

Aliph has pledged $ 5 million to stabilize Beirut's cultural heritage and earmarked $ 200,000 for the National Museum.
